"COMPARING STRIPES"

Here's a rare chance to compare conformation photos of an AKC Greyhound and an NGA Greyhound taken after they had won Best of Breed at two different AKC shows.

Both boys were pretty good representatives of their types; Fire won class "A" races and retired at the mandatory age, and Flash won points, including majors, and was stopped from his show career by a paw injury.

Although the third little fellow here, Journey, came from a pet shelter, he shows a type true to his Greyhound ancestors. Journey weighs 60 pounds, Fire raced around 80 pounds, and Flash weighed about 70 pounds.

JOURNEY, Mystery Man
While both Fire and Flash have left us, Journey found his way into our hearts in September, 1997, and hopes to have a page of his own. He is a young dog, probably just over a year old, and may be a Lurcher (in this case, mostly Greyhound), or a possibly purebred from track and hunting stock. We may never know his origins--he was picked up by the county humane society, living on the road, which was the inspiration for his name. He is all "Grey" in behavior, and we love him, whatever his story!
