Casa Navarro State Historical Park

Stands on .7-acre in downtown San Antonio, 
in Bexar County. 
The site was acquired by donation from the 
San Antonio Conservation Society Foundation in 1975, 
after having been in operation since July of 1964.
The original house complex, consisting of three 
limestone, caliche block, and adobe structures,
was built about 1848. 


Del Rio

2 1/2 hours from San Antonio on highway 90 west.
Great week-end getaway site.  Lake Amistad; Texas'
oldest winery; Ciudad Acuna, Mexico; Seminole Canyon
and Indian pictographs 4,000-plus years old.

Fredrich Wilderness Park
 
Operated by city of San Antonio as a nature preserve.
Provides nesting habitat for black-capped vireo and
golden-cheeked warbler. Five miles of hiking trails.
Open Wed. - Sun. 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
I-10 west Camp Bullis exit; 
west on frontage road to park.

Gruene Historic District, New Braunfels

30 minutes from San Antonio
New Braunfels a restored turn-of-the-century town on 
National Register of Historic Places.  Specialty shops,
Texas' Oldest Dance hall, restaurants, and antique shops.
River rafting and tubing on Guadalupe River.


Natural Bridge Caverns
Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country just North of San Antonio and Southwest of New Braunfels Open daily at 9 a.m. Open every day of the year except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Tours leave every 30 minutes throughout the day. Last tour of the day leaves at 6 p.m. during June -August and Labor Day Weekend. September-May, last tour leaves at 4 p.m. Tour time: 1 hour, 15 minutes.

Natural Bridge Wild Life Ranch

Take I 35-North, Exit 175 (FM 3009) Natural Bridge Caverns Road and follow the signs. From your vehicle, view and feed exotic species from seven different countries. San Marcos Tube the San Marcos River. Shop the largest outlet center in the state. Aquarena Springs and Wonder World Park are some of natures finest attractions. Seguin Enjoy historic sites, antigue and specialty shops. Near the Guadalupe River. Two 18-hole golf courses.

Small, boutique-style winery with grape varieties selected following extensive research. Tours visit all aspects of wine production, including unusual underground wine cellar. River Walk Walking Tour Experience the charm and history of the San Antonio River Walk on foot with a San Antonio native. Historic Tour: Alamo, Mission San Jose, La Villita, San Fernando Cathederal Hemisfair Park, Market Sqaure, IMAX Theatre, Rivercenter and Mission Concepcion. Uptown Tour: Botanical Gardens, McNay Art Museum, San Antonio Zoo, Brackenridge Park, Witte Museum, and Museum of Art. Tours depart from Alamo Visitors Center beginning at 10:00 a.m. daily Call (210) 225-8587 or (210) 228-9776 Yanguana Boat Tours Yanaguana cruisers run continuously daily for a 35- to 45-minute guided tour of the river from three ticket locations along the River Walk. One is directly across from the Hilton Palacio del Rio Hotel, on the west side of the river; one is at Rivercenter Mall, on the east side of the lagoon; and the other is at the Holiday Inn River Walk, on the northern arm of the horseshoe bend. Hours vary according to the season, but tours usually begin operating at 9 a.m. and end about 10:30-11 p.m. The cruisers are wheelchair accessible. Fare is $4; seniors age 65 and older and military, $3; and children under 5, $1. You can make reservations by calling 210/244-5700 or 800/417-4139. If you want to dine (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) aboard one of the Yanaguana cruisers, you can make arrangements through many of the restaurants along the River Walk.
