was listed as a bookkeeper for J. A. Sample & Co.. He was shown as boarding at
the northwest corner of Church and Royal. (1)

residence is listed as 512 Magazine. In the 1874 directory, his residence is
shown as 408 Magazine. In the 1875 directory he is shown as living at 811
Magazine. In the 1876 directory his residence is listed as 339 Dryades, in
1877 as 203 Clio, in 1878 as 371 South Rampart, in 1879-81 as 432 South

According to New Orleans city directories, he worked as a clerk and bookkeeper
in the Southern Express Company, as a cotton clerk with the Texas & Pacific
Railroad, and as a
