Know all me by these presents that I, JOSSE HOLLOWELL of the County of Orange and State of Indiana, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, in manner and form as follows, to wit - Firstly - that all my debts be paid out of my estate. Secondly - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife ELIZABETH HOLLOWELL during her widowhood for her own use, raising and educating my children, in a proper manner the following property -the plantation whereon I now reside, two mares known by the name of Face and Snider, one wagon and geers, five cows and calves, and two steers of her own choice, twenty-five head of hogs of her own choice, ten head of sheep of her own choice, and as much bacon and corn as my executors thing will be sufficient for the use of herself, family and stock, my crop of wheat flax and cotton, my household and kitchen furniture and farming utensils, except such articles as is hereafter mentioned, my riding saddle and bridle. Thirdly - I give and bequeath to my son JAMES HOLLOWELL a certain tract of land, which I purchased of General JOHN MILROY lying and being in Lawrence County one mile and a half north of Palestine, and one brass mounted gun to him and his heirs forever. Fourthly - I give and bequeath to my son JOHN HOLLOWELL the northwest quarter of Section thirty-five in Township two north of range one west, one half quarter section lying on the waters of Lost River which I purchased of SAMUEL GLENN and one iron mounted rifle gun to him and his heirs forever. Fifthly - I give and bequeath to my daughter MARY HOLLOWELL, one bed and furniture, one third part of a lot in the town of Paoli where JACOB REPHENS, SR. now resides, and one cupboard at the expiration of my wife's widowhood. Sixthly - I give and bequest to my daughter, SALLY HOLLOWELL, one bed and furniture, one lot in the town of Paoli which right at present is in the hands of HENRY HOLLOWELL, and one desk at the expiration of my wife's widowhood. All that part of my father's estate that is undivided and a coming to me to be equally divided between my above named daughters. Seventhly - I give and bequeath to my son, JOOSE WOODARD HOLLOWELL the tract of land where I now reside at the expiration of my wife's widowhood to him and his heirs forever. It is then my desire that all my unbequeathed property be sold at the discretion of my executors for the use of paying my just debts together with the money to be collected from those that are owing of me. Should there be any left after paying the same, to be put on Interest and equally divided among my children as they marry or come of age. I do hereby appoint my brother JOHN HOLLOWELL and HENRY HOLLOWELL his son executors of this my last will and testament, requesting that they may see the same and I hereby revoke and make void all other wills and testaments by me made and do publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 6th day of December in the year of our Lord 1822. JOSSE HOLLOWELL. Published, pronounced and delivered by the said Josse Hollowell to be his last will and testament in the presence of - JOHN PINNICK, JAMES DISBON, ALEXANDER MORRIS. In the name of God Amen, I ELIZABETH HOLLOWELL of the County of Orange & State of Indiana being sound of mind & memory but calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it appointed for all persons once to die and as it has pleased God to bless me with some property of this life it is my will that the same be distributed in the following manner. First - recommending my Soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner at the will of my executor hereafter mentioned. Second. I give & bequeath to my Daughter SARAH HOLLOWELL one quarter of land being the South East quarter of Section No. nine & ten in town one North of Range one West in the districts of land sold at Vincennes to her & her heirs forever. I also give to the above named SARAH one bed and all the bed clothing that she has made or may hereafter make and also one cow & calf one womans Saddle to her & her heirs forever. Third - I give & bequeath to my Daughter POLLY CLENDENNIN thirty dollars it being a not I hold on (Said POLLY CLENDENNIN husband JOSEPH CLENDENNIN) and it is considered by me Satisfaction to said JOSEPH CLENDENNIN for going to North Carolina to collect money for me. Fourth. It is my will and desire that all of my property unbequeathed Shall be taken by my Executor hereafter mentioned and sold by him and after all dues & demands are paid by him against me. The residue Shall be equally divided among my children names as follows JAMES HOLLOWELL, JOHN HOLLOWELL, POLLY HOLLOWELL (late POLLY CLENDENNIN), SARAH HOLLOWELL and JOSSE W. HOLLOWELL. Fifth I do hereby constitute and appoint my son JOHN HOLLOWELL Executor of this my last will and testament revoaking all other will heretofore made by me.
