I Abner Hollowell of the County of Preble and State of Ohio do make and Publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say - Item 1st It is my will that my Funeral Expenses & all my Just debts be paid out of my Estate. Item 2nd I give and bequeath to Tamer Goodwin (wife of Henry Goodwin) Five Hundred dollars in Money. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to Benjamin Skinner the amount due me on a certain Note which I hold against him. Item 4th The Residue of my Estate both real and personal I give and bequeath to Lavina Goodwin (widow of the late James Goodwin deceased) as long as she shall live and after her death I direct that the same be divided Equally between Abigail Goodwin and Lavina Goodwin (daughter of the late James Goodwin deceased) to be to them their heirs and assigns forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seal this 23rd day of January 1853. Abner Hollowell (seal). Signed and published and declared by the above named Abner Hollowell as his Last will & testament in presence of us who at his request have signed as Witnesses to the same. David Lantis, William Kellam. The State of Ohio Preble County S.S. Probate Court of Preble County April 18, 1853. Personally appeared in open Court David Lantis and William Kellam of lawful age who being duly affirmed deposes and saith that the Paper Writing now exhibited in Court is the last Will and Testament of Abner Hollowell late of Preble County deceased. That they saw him sign and heard him acknowledge the same. That they signed the same as witness in his presence and at his request, and that at the time of Executing the same, he was of full age, of sound mind and memory, anot not under any restraint. I Mary Hollowell of the County of Preble and state of Ohio being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills and Testaments by me made. 1st It is my will that my just debts and funeral Expenses be fully paid. 2nd It is my will that all the money of which I may die Siezed including all notes due me at this time or may become due hereafter be loaned out at interest during the natural life of my mother. 3rd. I give and bequeath to my mother Michel Hollowell all the interest that may become due by this loaning of said money during her natural life except as much of the interest as may be necessary to pay the taxes on said money. Fourth I give and bequeath to my brother Abner Hollowell one Hundred Fifty Dollars at the decease of my mother also my dulcimer at my decease to him and his Heirs forever. 5th I give and bequeath to Marietta Goodwin One Hundred and Fifty Dollars to be paid to her at the decease of my mother also my two best Bed Stead, white ___ ___, Ear Rings, Accordion and Locket to her and her Heirs Forever. 6th I give and bequeath the remainder of my money whatever there may be left to my brothers and sisters William Hollowell, Luke Hollowell, Mariam Hill and Sarah Fowler to be equally divided among them to them and their heirs forever. 7th I give and bequeath to my mother the residue of my Bed, Bed cloathing and wearing apparel during her natural life. It is my will that whatever may be left of my wearing apparel at the decease of my mother be Equally divided among Mariam Hill, Sarah Fowler and Marietta Goodwin and whatever may be left of my Beds and bed clothing at the decease of my mother to be equally divided among all of the above mentioned heirs. 9th it is my will that my mother have all my dishes, saddle, books and pictures during her natural life and at the decease of my mother said books, dishes, saddle and pictures be equally divided among all of the above mentioned heirs. 10th I hereby constitute and appoint my brother Abner Hollowell Executor of this my last Will and Testament. September 27th 1858. Mary Hollowell. Signed in the presence of Ellias Pearson, Sarah Pearson and Asemeth Roberts. Be it remembered that heretofore to wit on the 8 day of November A.D. 1858 the last Will and Testament of Mary Hollowell Late of Gratis Township, Preble County deceased was produced in Court by Abner Hollowell the executor in said will named and Ellias Pearson and Sarah Pearson and Asemeth Roberts the subscribing witnesses to said Will appeared and in open court on oaths testified to the due Execution of said Will which said Testimony was reduced to writing and by them respectively subscribed and filed with said will and it appearing to the Court by said testimony that said Will was duly attested and Executed and that said Testator at the time of Executing the same was of full age and of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint. It was ordered by the Courth that said Will and testimony be recorded. (Preble Co., OH Probate Court Records Book ___, p. __).
