Azzi's pedigree
Azzi was Runner Up Elkhound Bitch of the Year in 1982 and 1983.

She also won nine BOBs at Open Shows and was RBIS on four occasions.

In the summer of 1984, our car, in which Azzi was a passenger, was involved in a crash. Although there were no injuries, Azzi subsequently became unsettled when travelling by car, and was retired from the show ring.

In 1992, after an eight year absence from the show ring, she returned to win Best Veteran and RBIS at the the BEC Open Show under breed specialist Harold Bellamy.

Azzi and Seb
Azzi in old age with Dordi Azzi really thought she was human. Her personality was quite different to that of Tara, our first elkhound. Where Tara liked rolling on rotting fish, Azzi used to like to lie amongst the flowers. Unlike Tara, she was unusually obedient for an elkhound.

Our secret weapon in the ring was an apple, which led to Azzi being known as 'Azzi Apple-Dog'.

Azzi was almost always handled in the ring by Debi. Debi no longer handles - her interest died with Azzi, her special dog.

Azzi had just one litter in 1985. Sadly, two of her four puppies developed glaucoma, and we did not breed further from the line.
