Ekko is a son of the well known N UCH N JCH Bamse I 22514/98, a popular sire in Norway who has sired a number of show and hunting champions. His breeders are my friends Michael and Wendy Sharman of the Naraena Norwegian Elkhounds, who made the long trip to Norway with Elsa in July 2006. Great care was taken in researching the lines of the stud used in order to safely enrich our small gene pool. Ekko will be hipscored and eyetested at the appropriate time. Ekko is just starting out on his show career, but seems to be getting the right idea about this showing lark! He is actually easier to handle than his illustrious kennelmate, Raider! | |
Ekko is a nice boy to live with. He is a calm and sensible dog, if somewhat singleminded at times. His favourite human is my husband Brian, but he thinks Stuart is pretty cool too and enjoys his trips to his babysitter to play with Auntie Minnie. He has a comical manner which never fails to amuse. He likes chasing birds. He also likes toys and chewies, and playing with humans. Like Raider, he likes watching television, but unlike Raider, he rarely sits on my knee. His trademark is the hug with dewclaws embedded in your neck. Ekko likes humans but LOVES other dogs. Ekko's best friend used to be our old lady, Spooky, but since he matured a little, he seems to have transferred his affections to Raider, of whom he is slightly in awe. Poor old Spooky doesn't get a look in with either of the boys - not cool enough? |
