From the Photo
Collection of Roxie Poochigian Elmassian (b. 1924)
According to Roxie
Poochigian Elmassian (b. 1924),
her mother Khatoon Topjian Poochigian
(1897-1987), the daughter of
Melkon Topjian
and Mariam Poochigian Topjian, left the village of Perri just after this picture was
taken.
Khatoon carefully guarded this picture and carried it with her everywhere she went.
Khatoon was separated from her husband, Dickran Poochigian (1889-1977)
for seven years. In about 1920, Khatoon
was reunited with her husband,
Dickran, in New York, and they settled in Fresno, California.
Khatoon gave this picture to her daughter, Roxie Poochigian Elmassian,
who has kindly shared the picture with our entire Poochigian family.
