Poochigian Burials in the
Ararat Armenian Cemetery

The Ararat Cemetery is an Armenian Cemetery, and it is a nonprofit organization operated by a board of directors.  On December 2, 1885, Mr. Moses J. Church granted a parcel of land to the Armenian Community of Fresno for the cemetery. Operating costs, repairs and the upkeep of the grounds are financed by interest from an Endowment Fund and donations.

The Ararat Cemetery is located just west of Highway 99 at Belmont and Hughes Avenues in the city of Fresno.  Masis Ararat Cemetery (commonly known as the "new" Ararat Cemetery) is located just south of Ararat Cemetery.
