Hi! This page is for you, the Cadet. You make the suggestions for what is on this page and how it should be used. There will be interesting links provided for you, such as our unit's resources page.Check here often. Most importantly, you need to make a habit of checking to see if there are any Cadet Flash Alerts. These are important notifications you are responsible to know about. Our unit staff will do the best we can to keep you informed via email, but check this page for more information so you do not have to bother your upline shipmates unless necessary.
This is an important resource page for your parents as well. It is a place they can come to help make sure they are aware of important unit activities, articles, alerts, etc. Please make sure you all bookmark this page and refer to it often!

Parents/Cadets! We have set up a special web based forum area on Yahoo! eGroups at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jrseabee for our unit to communicate. We call it a "Scuttle Butt" because it's generally around the water cooler in an office that a lot of communication among employees happens. On ship, the water cooler is called the Scuttle Butt. Our Scuttle Butt contains a calendar, email message board, chat room, and all sorts of neat things that will help us all communicate among each other. All communication to cadets, officers and parents will be posted on this site.All unit members should join our eGroup by inputing your email address into the input box below. Your request will be transmitted to our eGroup administrator who will either approve or disapprove your request for membership. If you get declined because you are not on our member list, please contact our unit's Commanding Officer scnjgn@comcast.net with your request.
If you have already signed up with Yahoo eGroups, simply select the section header hyper link above or here- the Scuttle Butt- and you will be taken directly to our group's page where you can sign in.
Use this site for all unit communication. You can be emailed all postings made to the site so you are always aware of what is going on. This is the default setting, but it means that each time a message or reply to a message is posted it will be emailed to you as well. If you don't want to receive this email, then just edit your Profile. It is important if you do this to check the site each day to be brought up to date on current information.
When you sign up, please completely fill out your eGroup Member Profile so your name etc. is displayed next to your email address- sometimes it's hard to tell who you are by just your email address! Help us out!

- 12/03/00: Cadet Ball: Check message board for LTjg Gadsby's info. Final count must be in by 12/10.
- 11/27/00: Error Correction: 12/06 and 12/13 meeting times are 6:00pm vs as stated on calendar.
- 11/23/00: Parents/Cadets - Please read an important letter from the Commanding Officer: Serial059
- 11/20/00: We will be having a Yankee Swap evening of 12/13 optional drill. No Uniform is required. Civilian clothes please. Bring a Fun Gift. Keep the Cost below $5.00.
- 11/13/00: Yearly unit membership fees: Please be sure your yearly USNSCC due are paid. If unsure, find out immediately and take care of this.
- 11/08/00: POM CHANGE: Friday Nov. 17th muster at 1730 for the trip, not as originally posted as 1530. You should bring any snacks that you will want, and you will need to also bring $10 for food.
