This is Boots. She was given to Cheryl by some folks who just didn't want her any more. Her crying bothered them. Boots is definitely Cheryl's little furbaby and wants everyone to know it. She is jealous if someone else in the family wants Cheryl's attention. She has been known to growl and bite to protect her spot on her "mommy's" lap. Boots will even sneak in to the bedroom to get to sleep on Cheryl's side of the bed.
We've had Boots for about 3 years now. Cheryl feels like she rescued her and is very glad she did. Boots can make any hard day better by greeting Cheryl when she gets home from work. Sometimes, though, she makes it hard for Cheryl to leave the house because she cries such a pitiful wail.
Boots just got over an ulcer on her right cornea caused by a scratch to the eye. We don't know how she got the scratch, but we're glad she is better now.
Boots also has some allergies, but that is typical for Pekingese. Cheryl cooks for her and right now Boots is eating white fish, potatoes, carrots, peas, garlic and salt. She seems to like it alot, but also wipes her chin on the living room rug if she gets the chance.
Speaking of the living room, that is Boots' favorite room in the house. She lays on the rug sometimes, but her bed is in the living room, too. She also enjoys chasing her stuffed duck toy and carries it back to the rug when someone throws it for her. She shook and killed her duck so many times that the stuffing came out, and now she actually has a platypus that she thinks is her duck. She usually plays a game of duck with her dad (Cheryl's husband, Greg) in the evenings before bed.
Although we have other animals and pets, Boots is special and always will be!
