Funeral services
for Mrs. Albert Worsham Sr., 76, the former Jewel Graham Worsham, will be
held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Paul
Neel officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Evangeline
Funeral Home, which will reopen at 10 a.m. until the time of services
Thursday. A native of Flora, Texas, and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs.
Worsham died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at New Iberia Manor North.
She is survived by her children, Albert "Sonny" Worsham Jr. and
his wife, Carolyn of Larose, Robert Worsham and his wife, Barbara, and
Dennis Worsham and his wife, Maxine, all of New Iberia, Shirley Morse and
her husband, Gale of Mulberry, Ark. and Brenda Crum of New Iberia; four
brothers, John and Paul Graham, both of Carrolton, Texas, Larry Graham of
Prescott, Ark. and Roger Graham of Fortsmith, Ark.; her sister, Lorine
Charles of Kilgore, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

has hazel eyes, auburn hair, dark complexion is five feet 9 inches high."

received of the death of Jan. 28 in Harlingen, Texas, of Mrs. Alice Worsham
McLamore, 79, a native of Bienville Parish and a long time resident of the
Atlanta community, Winn Parish. Mrs. McLamore was born and reared near Mt.
Lebanon and is survived by a sister, Mrs. J. R. Stewart of Shreveport and
other relatives. Funeral services were held last Thursday in
Harlingen."

of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Euna Belle Mobley of Robeline. Stewart was a
retired farmer, and for many years his farm was designed a model farm by the
state because of outstanding crops. He was active in the Baptist Church for 75
years, and was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church of Shreveport. Funeral
services March 24, Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cem."

Whitworth md Martha Walthall (Mary’s sister) Sur. Claiborn Whitworth &
1794 Nancy Whitworth md John Worsham in Amelia. Kevon believes Nancy named
her children after her husband, husbands brother, Rowland’s wife, Claiborn may
have been her father & she could be Rowlands sister. This connects James
Worsham, the son of George Worsham to John Worsham who md. Nancy Whitworth. On
page 666, we have James Worsham b abt 1765 Amelia Co., VA probably md Mary
Walthall. Wit. to consent, William Ford and Charles Worsham, Sur. Charles
Worsham. When John Worsham md Nancy Whitworth, Charles Worsham was also
Security. This John, very likely could be James’ older brother, John Worsham
b. abt 1763, on page 665.
1.2. John Worsham b. 22 Oct 1799. He md. Martha
C. Taylor the sister of his brother William Worsham's wife Mary Taylor.
They are named in George Taylor's will of Giles Co., TN, written 5 Apr 1842
recorded 6 May 1842:
"I George Taylor do make and publish this my
last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at
any time made. First I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid
as soon after my death as possible out of any money I may die possessed of or
may first come into the hands of my Executor. Secondly I give and bequeath to my
wife Elizabeth Taylor all my property after paying my debts as above stated.
Viz. my house and land and Negro Woman America her Son A Negro Boy named Major
and my Negro man Ralph and a girl Phillis. Also my money Notes and accounts and
live stock of all kinds also the Household and kitchen furniture To have and to
hold so long as she may live to the use of her Support. And at my wife Elizabeth
Taylor's death I desire that my estate be equally devided between my two
daughters. Viz. Mary Worsham wife of William Worsham and Martha Worsham wife of
John Worsham their heirs and afsigns forever. Moreover I give and bequeath to my
daughter Martha Worsham the dwelling House of John Worsham died now Standing on
my premises to dwell in so long as she remains Singl to have and to hold as her
own house. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife my executor in
witness whereof I do this at my (house) and seal this 5th day of April 1842.

the Briggs Family Bible, Josephine md Edward Briggs 12 Nov 1871 at the home of
the bride’s father G. S. Worsham. Solemnized by Rev. C. A. Harwell on Sunday.
Perhaps the 7 Nov date was the date the license was issued. In the Bible record
Edward b 12 Nov 1849 & died 21 Oct 1911 & she d 24 Jun 1913. According
to her death certificate she was b 12 Nov 1857 d. 29 Jun 1913 Brunner, Harris
Co., TX of pellegra. Burial: Glenwood. It names her father as G. W. Worsham, not
G. S. Worsham. (John Norwood, 2003) According to most of the records found, his
name is either G. S. Worsham or George S. Worsham; therefore, it is believed the
