James and Fanny were married in 1826 0r 1827
and settled in Fairview, Va. Fanny was the daughter of
John and Mary Dalston. Fairview's name was later
changed to Pughtown, W.Va. and is now
New Manchester, W.Va.



While finding out about some other information that
was given to me on other members of the family, I asked the
lady on the other end of the phone to "just check" the
Thayers in the cemetary there. Low and behold I not only
found James Thayer but his daughter in law Nancy Stafford
Thayer. Both are at the Union Cemetary in Steubenville,
Jefferson County,Ohio.
