Community & Family Services Director - Darlene Carr
A third generation Salvationist, Darlene was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario. She attended the Oshawa Temple (then Citadel) Corps and was active in many Junior and Senior Corps sections.
Following graduation from the three year Secretarial Sciences Program at Durham College, Darlene relocated to Peterborough to work for Ontraio Hydro, followed by a number of years in the Marketing Department of Johnson & Johnson Medical products. A brief period of time was spent teaching in the Adult Education Business Department of Sir Sanford Fleming College.
Following this, Darlene opened her own music studio and received her A.R.C.T. in Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory, University of Toronto in 1991.
Positions held in the Peterborough Temple Corps include Corps Pianist from 1971-1996, Songster Pianist from 1971 to present, Corps Treasurer and Corps Secretary for a number of years, as well as Community & Family Services Executive Director from 1996 to present.
