Illinois Citizens for Life engages in a variety of programs all designed to foster Life. These programs involve education wherein speakers are available to groups of all sizes for pro-life presentations. Our education program also includes a library of video and slide presentations and other materials which are used by our speakers or may be borrowed by interested organizations.
The library also has numerous pamphlets, article reprints, and brochures available free of charge, although free-will donations are graciously accepted. Also available for loan are books, scholarly journals, audio/visual aids, cassettes, and videos dealing with all Life issues. Some materials are available in Spanish and Polish. A listing of subjects appears here online and a complete online catalogue is in preparation. Interested parties may email or telephone us at 630-852-5448 for more information or to request materials..
Our social action programs offer care and assistance to women with troubled pregnancies, the disabled, the elderly and the terminally ill. We maintain a listing of pregnancy assistance organizations in Illinois which provide alternatives to abortion. We also participate in conferences and meetings wherever we can spread the right-to-life message and change hearts. Project Love offers financial assistance to individuals in critical need.
The Lifeline is our free, bi-monthly newsletter providing news on legislation and other happenings affecting Life issues. You may subscribe to our free newsletter by sending email to icl@innocent.com or by regular mail. Please include your name, organization, address, city, state and zip code in the message. Providing a telephone number is optional. Donations to offset the costs of publication and mailing are welcome.
Political action efforts include letter writing to legislators, supporting pro-life legislation, informing voters of candidates holding pro-life positions, and training "citizen lobbyists". ICL is the principal administrative and financial support for the only full time pro-life lobbyist in Illinois, Ralph Rivera.
