The ancestor
Damien
Bérubé was baptized on February 2, 1647 at Roquefort
in the diocese of Rouen, in Normandie. He was the son of Robert
Bérubé and Catherine Ferrecoq. When he arrived
in New France in 1671, he contributed to the foundation of the seigneurie
de la Bouteillerie at Rivière-Ouelle where he had receive a concession
from M. de Boishébert on September 27, 1676. It is
in this place that Damien lived until the age of 41. He was buried
in the cemetary of this parish on March 7, 1688. His wife, Jeanne
Sauvenier, widow of Jean Soucy (known
as Lavigne), another of my ancestors, gave him 6 children among those Pierre.
