Dear Alice:
Your letter was received yesterday afternoon, but your grandmother and Aunt were here, and E. J. and Ben came in the evening, or I should have written immediately. I will write a few lines now and try and get it off on the noon train, so then you will probably get it in time.
Emma J. is intending to go down on the noon train Friday and stay over night with you. Mrs Grider has decided to wait and go with her next month.
If you find time Saturday you ought to call at your Uncle Frank's.
The paint in the bath room will be dry by the time you get here so you can use it. We have none of us taken a bath yet since it was painted but I told Forrest he could have one Saturday afternoon.
I'll not stop to write much now, you will soon be here to see things for your self. Your father says I tell you too much of what is going on here any how; that there will be nothing new for you to learn when you get here.
From your mother
E. M. Watrous.
