During the early 1890's Alice M. Watrous attended the University of California at Berkeley. While there she carried on correspondence with her mother, Ellen Goff. I have 75 of these letters. It is an opportunity to look into the daily goings on in the family in Stockton, and the experiences of a young lady in the university at that time. During this time the Watrous' remodeled the inside of their home, originally built in 1870. The letters came to a premature end with the untimely death of Ellen Goff. Alice was not able to complete her studies as a result.
