Dear Alice:
Your last was received yesterday. Glad to hear you were feeling better.
Emma J. was here last night and said she would go down Friday afternoon, stay at Mrs Fuller's over night, and meet you at the Dr's Saturday morning, as we suppose that is the day you generally go there. She said she might possibly stay over Sunday and if she did would like to have you come into Oakland and visit with her.
You did not say how much money you wanted, but according as I have kept the run of your affairs in my head you will not need a great deal till you have to pay your board again on the 20th. I will send a little by E. J. and you can tell her how much you have on hand; then I can tell about how much to send you the next time.
Well the land is gone and the papers all made out. I had gone down town yesterday to sign the deed.
I don't know what we will do to the inside of the house, If we have a door cut through like Mrs Phillip's, the chimney will have to be torn down and built over again and the room papered over. That would be quite an experience. I have thought some of having a portion of the partition between the rooms we are using now, for sitting room and parlor cut away, to make a spare the size folding doors would be, and hanging curtains there so we could throw the two rooms into one if we wanted to. But I don't know what we will do, we may not do anything before you will be home in April. Your father spoke of waiting till Bens house was done and having the same carpenters come over here.
If you send your black lace by E. J. I will lengthen it but you will not be apt to get it till you come home in April.
E. M. Watrous.
