Dear Alice:
I write a little earlier this week, that you may be sure to get it before Saturday, as Aunt has an errand she would like you to do for her. She wants a waist like yours and can not get her size at Feist's. So she would like to have you see if you can get her one there. She wants white and No 23.
She and Forrest went to Oakdale Monday and intend to stay till Saturday. Then Sunday George is going to the City and She thinks she will leave Forrest here and go with him. She says tell you to meet her at 10th street and go to Oakland with her. Take the waist with you if you get it.
We are having a rainy spell here - bad time for picnics.
The house is not done yet and I don't know when it will be. Mr Blaisdell was sick Monday and I have not seen him around this morning. It will be so late before we get any work done here that you may be able to select paper, paint, curtains and every thing else. The weather is so wet they cannot paint the house.
Ben was in hopes to be able to move the 15th but they will not be.
Emma Jane has washed her dress, bought the pattern she intended to have it made from and I commenced to cut it out yesterday.
I have broken a piece off the other end of my spectacles and now have to wear them with a string. They are making lots of fun of me.
Your father says tell you if you come up here and try to cut up any of your shines with him he will tie you to the door knob.
Was surprised to hear such news of Effie and Frank. Your father told Ed Mrs Phillips was very much surprised said she could not imagine what the trouble could be.
From your mother
