Every person in the New Testament, under the new law, was saved after being baptized. The question, "What must I do to be saved?" was recorded as asked by four different people in the New Testament.(Matt. 19:17-19; Acts 2:37; Acts 16:13; Acts 22;10) It was recorded that the answer everyone got was a little different. In Matt, the man was living in the old law, so we cannot believe that the instructions for him are for us. The rest are from the new law. The jailer was told to believe, then was baptized. The people on the day of Pentecost were told to repent and be baptized. Paul was told to be baptized, calling on the name of the Lord. Each was recorded as a little different, but we can infer that they each had to do all of the steps. Throughout the rest of the Bible we are told these steps many times. To believe(John 3:16), repent(Acts 17:30), confess(Matt 10:32,33), and be baptized(Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Mark 16:16; 1 Pet 3:21)
