I know, I know, there really isn't another person just like you or me. We
are all individuals with unique thoughts, feelings, experiences, tastes and all the rest
of it. Some of us have it good, some not so good.
The one thing I believe we ALL have in common
though is that each one of us has a different side to us than what we let the world see.
The REAL you or me. For example, this whole site I have created is based on
how I want the world to see me and what I want it to see of me. I suppose that this
site represents about 3/4's of the real me. The rest I shall always keep hidden :-)
I don't very often get to meet new people.
My life has been relatively "static" for many years. I've lived in
the same community for eons, and worked at the same company for even more eons.
Lately I've gotten very interested in delving a little deeper into other people's lives,
through the Internet that is. It's amazing how people perceive, evaluate or judge
things so differently.
There are a few things that I'd like to share
with you that have affected me in one way or another over the past while. All of
them are related to "people".
One was this webring on the
WWW. It's a ring (or circle) of personal homepages linked to one another where
individuals keep on-line personal journals. In many of these journals the
individuals are very upfront sharing with us a glimpse of what they are really like and
how they tick. Fascinating! I warn you ahead of time that these journals
contain profanity, etc. So if you're a prude, don't bother wandering over that way.
I'd also like to tell you about a discussion I
had with my husband while watching a show on Dateline. The issue was 3 children who
filed with the courts to divorce their father. Then I'd like to tell you about 2
tragic events that happened in my hometown recently which I will never forget. I've
put them both on the same page.
And finally, this was soooo very intriguing, a
web site built
by/for a convicted criminal. I was totally captured by his story and
excellence in writing. I bought into what he was saying and I truly believe that he
should not be serving a 45 year sentence for his actions.
The shock that I got was when, after reading
all he had to say, I read the guestbook. I was shocked at the cruel (undeserving???)
things people said in it. Am I so wrong to think 45 yrs for what he did seems
unjust? Please let me know what you think in My Guestbook. |
