The Drake family was found to be living in Clam Harbour, Nova Scotia in 1871. For the 1871 census they were included with Polling Station 27 which included Jeddore N.S. and the surrounding area.
Stephen John Drake

Stephen was born in Nova Scotia. Stephen is list as 33 years old on the 1871 census, 46 on the 1881, 51 on the 1891 and 60 on the 1901. Stephen was a fisherman in Clam Harbour. He was married in 1861 to Catharine Jane Blakely in Eastern Passage/Dartmouth. Some time between 1891 and 1901 Catharine died. He got married again this time to Emily Magdalene Stafford. They had two kids, up till 1901, Frank and Olive. Stephen and his family in 1901 are listed as belonging to the Church of England. Stephen died after 1922 as Eldon Drake recalls Stephen attending Ronald Drake's funeral in P.E.I.

Emily was born in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia according to her marriage slip. She was married at age 21 to John Russell, 38, fisherman in Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S. They were both residing in Clam Harbour when they were married.
2. Stephen "John" Drake

Died: October 12, 1947
John as he was known was born in Eastern Passage, N.S. John was married to Margaret (Maggie) (M.S. Davis) Laybolt (1861-post 1901?) who was a widow. They were married in Clam Harbour where they both were residing. They had four children according to the 1901 census: Laliah Mae or Lelia May, James Hollis, Bertha and John Alfred. John and Margaret are both buried at St. Mathews Anglican Church, Clam Harbour. John died of cancer of the face at the age of 86.
3. Elizabeth Drake

Died: After 1881
Elizabeth was born in Nova Scotia.
4. Isabella Drake
Born: March 30, 1866/1867/1872
Married: July 24, 1888
Died: 1939
Isabella was born in Jeddore, N.S. according to her marriage slip. She was married at age 22 to James Cooke Baker (1865-1937), 24, fisherman in Jeddore West, N.S. Both of them are listed as residing in Porters Passage at their time of marriage. They had five children according to the 1901 census: Lelina, Julia, Uda, Emma and Morris. Isabella and James are both buried at United Church of Clam Harbour cemetary.
5. Harriet Matilda Drake

Died: About 1940
Harriet was born in Nova Scotia. She was married to James Gilbert (1852-?) who was a fisherman. They one son Thomas Gilbert.
6. James Drake

Died: After 1871, Before 1881
James was born in Little Harbour, N.S. the twin brother of Ronald Drake.

Ronald was born in Little Harbour, N.S. Ronald was a farmer and a fisherman according to the 1901 census. On the 1901 he is listed as a member of the Church of England. Ronald had an English background.
8. Verna Catherine Drake

Died: 1979
Verna bas born in Nova Scotia. She married George Laybolt (abt 1854-1946). They had one son G. Frederick Laybolt. They are both buried at Clam Harbour United Church.
9. Edward Daniel "Ned" Drake

Married: 1. March 31, 1892 2. October 29, 1905
Died: 1957
Ned as he was known was born in West Jeddore N.S. Ned was marrried twice. His first wife was Harriet "Hattie" Stevens (1877-1905?), 17. They were married in Clam Harbour where they were both residing. They had three kids: Hollis, Jeffe, and Jenie Laurella. Ned's second wife was Annie Elizabeth Monk (1886-1945).
10. Margaret Angeline Drake

Died: After 1891, before 1901
Margaret who was called Asiline on the 1881 census and Maggie on the 1891 census was born in Nova Scotia. She married Thomas Gilbert.
11. Amos William Drake

Married: October 17, 1904
Died: 1955
Amos was born in Jeddore, N.S. Amos, 25, married Susan "Susie" Laybolt (1880-1982), 24, in Clam Harbour where he was residing.
12. Reuben Havelock Drake
Born: March 12, 1881
Married: October 10, 1904
Died: July 18, 1959
Reuben was born in Clam Harbour N.S. Reuben was a fisherman when he was married to Mona Richardson (1882-1960), 22 in Clam Harbour. He is buried in the same cemetary as Ronald which is West St. Peters Cemetary in Bristol Prince Edward Island.
Second Family of Stephen Drake
Stephen was married to Emily "Emma" Magdalene Stafford June 13,1898. They had the following children:
