William J. Springer's 1883 biography says he has one son at that time. Two other possibilities for sons of WM. J. Springer are Christopher and Ernest J. Springer.

An index of Chickasaw County vital records shows a Chris Springer, age 21 marrying Pearl Carter in 1896. Mrs. Christopher Springer dies in 1897. There was an older Christopher Springer in the area, also. An Ernest J. Springer, age 24, married Lena Billings in 1899. Note that both the ages work out to the person being born about 1875. But I currently have no proof linking either of Ernest or Chris to the father William J.
