I have found an obituary extract which I think fits this John Johnson, but I haven't confirmed that yet. Here's the text of the obituary extract:
J.D. JOHNSON of Webster, IA., D: July 1913, ae ca 23yrs. ``The Motorcycle he was riding broke down and he was given a ride in a car driven by Miss. Harrington of Norway, IA. He died instantly when the car upset on a newly graded road btw. Cedar Rapids and Fairfax, IA.''
In the 1910 census, the only Johnsons in Webster are Manville D. Johnson, age 52, and then in the next line, but a separate household, John D. Johnson, age 29, married 7 years. I believe these are all this same Johnson family, especially since there is no other Johnson family in Webster. But either that conclusion is wrong or some of the various ages have to be mistaken.
