Martin was a retired grocer in Keokuk, Iowa. He came to America
and Keokuk, Iowa in 1866.
He was a devout member of St. Peters church. He lived a very simple life
and was well thought of by all who knew him.
Martin's father is also buried in the old Catholic section of
Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. His father was Timothy Hynes (born
Nov. 1 1814, d. Dec. 8 1904, native of Ennistymon, Co. Clare
according to a cemetery index).
