The Middleton Church of Christ records note that Eliza Gapin moved away in November of 1878.

Several of the children of Eliza and Stephen Gapen are buried in the First Prairie Creek cemetery (or West Lawn) at Prairie Creek. However, the index for Prairie Creek cemetery has the wrong dates for nearly all of them, according to Mel Gapen who visited the cemetery in 2000.

Eliza and Stephen lived at first in Prairie Creek, Vigo Co., Indiana, then moved to Thornton, Boone Co., Indiana. Then they moved to Clinton Co., Indiana.

Dick Thompson Morgan called Eliza's husband Stephen ``Galpin'' and wrote that she left ``probably three children,'' but only named Harry. Names of their other children come from the records of Mel Gapen.
