Ivan ran the Morgan Packing Company in partnership with his father. According to the company's WWW pages, Ivan's ``dream was to become a physician, but in the late 1800s the Morgan family could not afford a medical school education. Instead, I.C. attended one year of business school in Indianapolis, then returned to Austin to operate the family store and pharmacy.''

``I.C. built a dance hall in downtown Austin in 1930.'' and he ``had an outgoing personality and was well liked by his employees. He also had a passion for politics and in 1932 was named state chairman of the Indiana Republican Party.
