Lewis POWELL was a brother of Pollyanna who married James Leander Matthews. Mary and Lewis Powell apparently divorced since a 1958 Powell family history says that Lewis went on to marry a second wife, Marry Miller, in 1866 and had 10 sons with her.

Ezra came to Clark county, Washington Territory, in 1861. He was a member of the Methodist church, which is where his funeral was held. He had suffered from consumption (T.B) for several years before his death.

Ezra's tombstone reads, ``Father A precious one from us is gone. A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home which never can be filled.''
