A Shannon family history says, ``Grace was in the last class to graduate from Mt. Carmel High School in Lawler, and attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught school for several years in Bremer, Chickasaw and Clinton counties. She later went to Chicago to teach in a business school, and married Michael P. Ganzer, a native of Canada.''

Grace and Michael had lived in Chicago, but she returned to Clinton in 1975.

Grace and Michael are buried in a family plot of a distant Shannon cousin on the ``other'' Shannon line (Mary (Shannon) Flood's line).
