She entered the congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Cedar Rapids Aug. 15, 1925, and made her final profession of vows June 16, 1931, becoming Sister Mary Ruth. She taught at several places in eastern Iowa. From 1967 to 1976 she was alumni director at Mount Mercy College. She retired to Sacred Heart Convent in 1976.
