The next clue about what became of Mary is the 1870 census, which has Delavan Bratt with wife Mary E., age 28. Besides several Bratt children, living with them is William Slaughter (Mary's father) and Emma J. Mack, age 9 (presumably a daughter of Mary's sister Elizabeth. Mary E.'s name and age match that of this Mary Slaughter and with William Slaughter and Emma Mack, I'm pretty sure it is this Mary. The marriage record is indexed as Nancy E. Martin marring Delevan Brott on 28 April 1866.
Mary's second husband, Delevan Bratt, was one of the first settlers of Moscow, Muscatine County, Iowa. Delevan Bratt married Elizabeth Miller in Indiana in 1839 and she was apparently the mother of most of his children. Delevan also married Rebecca Comer in 1862 in Muscatine county. Delevan is in Moscow Twp, Muscatine county, Iowa in the census from 1850 through 1880. In 1850, he and first wife Eliza are with four children. Delevan is there in 1860 with his children but no wife, and by 1870, it is Delevan and Mary E. (Slaughter) with two older children from his first marriage (Delavan, Jr., 18, and Cecilia, 14) and two younger ones, apparently Mary's children (George B., 3, and Jessie May, 9/12), as well as William Slaughter and Emma J. Mack, age 9. In 1880, Delavan and Mary E. are with Carlos, 26 (from Delavan's first marriage) and younger children Jessie, George, Russell, and Edgar.
