After her divorce, ``Ellen and her two girls moved to Wyoming, where she made a living as a cook on the Driscoll Ranch. From Wyoming, they moved to near Polson, Montana, near the Flathead Lake. Ellen lived the remainder of her life in Montana.''

Ellen moved to Hamilton, Montana after Gilbert died. She was called Ella by her great-grandchild Wendy Marquart, but all other records name her Ellen.
