Anna's great-granddaughter, Leann Gehm, said that family
stories passed down to her said ``that Maggie and William disowned
their daughter, Anna, because she married a non-catholic.'' About
1926 (her children were about 10 and 5) Anna's husband had her
committed to Elgin Mental Health Center and she remained there until
the last few years of her life when she was tranferred to a nursing home.
