Publicover, James. Father: Johann Michael BUBBIKOFFER #G20 Married: 2 Jun 1855 in Chester, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia to Louise
Elizabeth DORE. Louisa Elizabeth Dore Father: George Frederic DARES #G22 Children: SOURCES: (Note that main sources are linked to their description.) 1. Marriage of James Publicover and Louisa Elizabeth Dore. PANS: St.
Stephen's Anglican Church Rec MG4 #13 (1775-1859) page 50. 4. The family. The actual days of the births comes from the following
source and which I related to Harris Publicover in a letter to him: "I [WFG] found
this informtion on an old piece of notebook paper in a drawer in the home of the [Joseph
Albert] Grays in Los Angeles. This paper was in the handwriting of James Publicover and
was dated April 7, 1834. Here are the dates it listed: [then follows the birth dates of
the ten children as listed above.]" This letter also said that "mother [Louise
Dore] was 68 the 7th of April, 1902." This would make her birth date 7 April
1834." 6. George Alfred Publicover: Letter from Alma Lantz to WFG says George died at Mahone Bay. Letter from Harris Publicover to WFG dated 8 Oct 1949 says, "Alfred the second boy died in his youth." 7. James Norman Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray dated 22 Aug 1985 says Norman md. A. Pearl. Letter from Harris Publicover dated 8 Oct 1949 says "Norman the third boy is dead over twenty years. Letter from Alma Lantz to WFG dated 1 Dep 1949 says Norman died at Blandford. Marriage place is approximated. 8. Alice Louisa Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray says Alice md I. Boutilier. Letter from Harris Publicover dated 8 oct 1949 says, "Alice the oldest girl is a widow over thirty years. She was married to Isaac Boutilier and had three children, two boys, one girl who is nove living in U.S.A." 9. Helena Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray says Helena md Gus Augustus Publicover. Letter from Harris Publicover dated 8 Oct 1949 says, "My mother was first married to Augustine Publicover my father. She had four children two boys and two girls, one girl died in 1901. The rest of us live at Blandford. My fathera died in 1903 and my mother later married William West of Halifax. They moved to Tacoma out your way [that is, in the West] and lived there over twenty years. They now live at Blandford with Blanche my sister. She [his mother] is 87 and he is 90." This makes William West born abt 1859. 10. Clarence Freeman Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray said Freeman md R. Meisner. Letter from Harris Publicover dated 8 Oct 1949, says, "Freeman the fourth boy is still living but not very well." 11. Lucy Ann Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray says Lucy md "a Mr. Bond." Harris Publicover in letter dated 8 Oct 1949 says, "Lucy the next girl married a Bonn [?] from Porters Lake. She did not have any children." 12. Maria Maud Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray says Maud md. Rev. Bacon. Letter from Harris Publicover dated 8 Oct 1949, says, "Maud the fifth girl married a Rev. Frank Bacon an Episcopal clergyman. They are living or were the last I know in New Brunswick." 13. Alma Eliza Publicover: Letter from Donald Gray says Alma md H. Lantz. Letter from Alma Lantz to WFG dated 1 Sep 1949 says, "The Publicovers were all a big class of men. They say we are part German and Dutch." [Could be because the original came from Germany via the port at Holland.] 14. Teal (page 61) mentions this child: Ella Naiomi PUBLICOVER (11 Jul 1866-?) The only source for this child is Teal. No mention is made of her by James Publicover in his handwritten letter cited in #2 below. Furthermore, he skips Clarence Freeman, born the same day and he mis-numbers the children skipping #8 and going to #11 which still gives 10 children. Home | The Gray Family of
