Jeremiah Richards was born 1793 in Virginia, and died October 1849 in Harrison Co., Mississippi. He married Catherine Ister Or Isley February 16, 1818 in Montgomery Co., Virginia. She died Bef. 1840.
Jeremiah has not yet been proven to be the parent of these children nor has it been proven that the Jeremiah that married Catherine Isley is our ancestor. This information is only believed. More research still needs to be done on this generation of Richards.
Jeremiah was living in Clark and Hinds Counties in Mississippi in the 1830's and 1840's. He moved to Harrison County Mississippi in the late 1840's. He was listed in the death records of Harrison County Mississippi in 1849 as dying of a fever.
Jeremiah received two land patents. One for 77.94 acres in Rankin County Mississippi. The other one for 80 acres in Madison/Rankin Counties. Both patents dated December 10, 1841.

1. Sarah Jane Richards, born 1818 in Virginia. She married Fairfax Washington January 18, 1838 in Hinds Co., Mississippi; born 1801 in Virginia.
Notes for Sarah Jane Richards:
In 1850 Sarah and her husband were living with her sister Martha in Harrison County Mississippi. Do not know if they came to Texas.
2. George Daniel Richards, born 1820 in Virginia; died Bef. 1897 in Belton, Bell Co., Texas. He married (1) Frances Ellen Ludlow March 15, 1846 in Harrison Co., Mississippi; born 1829 in Mississippi; died 1854 in Belton, Bell Co., Texas. He married (2) Amanda G. Ellis June 26, 1855 in Bell Co., Texas; born 1838 in Georgia; died Bef. 1897 in Belton, Bell Co., Texas.
3. Martha Ann Richards, born February 12, 1823 in Virginia; died October 18, 1897 in Belton, Bell Co., Texas. She married (1) Benjamin Austin Ludlow April 30, 1840 in Hinds Co., Mississippi; born in New York; died 1849 in Harrison Co., Mississippi. She married (2) G Frank Pendleton April 02, 1854 in Bell Co., Texas; died Bef. 1860 in Bell Co., Texas.
Notes for Martha Ann Richards:
Martha was listed as a widow in 1850 in Harrison County Mississippi. Her husband was a surveyor and had been killed in 1849 on a trip to California. Martha's sisters Sarah and Mary and brother Abraham were living with her. By 1860 Martha had remarried and again was widowed and was living in Bell County Texas, not far from her brothers Abraham and George.
4. Abraham W. Richards, born 1825 in Virginia. He married Margaret A. Warren July 19, 1858 in Bell Co., Texas; born 1839 in Mississippi.
Notes for Abraham W. Richards:
He lived in Harrison County Mississippi in 1850 and had moved to Belton in Bell County Texas with his brother and sister. He served in the civil war with his brother George and was County Clerk for Bell County.
