Jesus and Maria Petra Paiz

Mother and Father of Santos Maria Paiz

After having brought his family up from Mexico, Jesus opened up a shoe repair shop In Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was here that Maria and Miguel first met and were married. A few years after Miguel and Maria moved to California, Jesus and Maria followed, along with most of the brother and sisters of Maria Santos Perez. Here they would stay as a vital part of the extended family and were both buried in a cemetery not far form the home of Maria and Miguel.

Miguel Alvadez Perez

And

Maria Santos Paiz, Perez

Born: 1902 Mexico, City Mexico

Died : 1985 Los Angeles, California

Born: November 1, 1912 Guadalajara, Mexico

Died: 1984 Los Angeles, California

Born in Mexico City, Miguel left his mothers home at and very early age to come to the United States. While working in Albuquerque, New Mexico Miguel rented a room over the shoe shop of his new and good friend Jesus Paiz. Living over Jesus's shop Miguel soon would fall in love with Maria Santos Paiz, wife of Jesus. Because Jesus felt that Miguel was not a good enough suitor for his daughter, Miguel was soon to fall out of favor with Jesus. It was then that he would take Maria and Elope to California.

While traveling with her husband through out the South West, Maria raised fifteen children (ten girls and five boys). It wouldn't be till the late nineteen sixties that Maria and her husband would finally come to permanently settle down in one town. Here in Los Angeles Maria would live surrounded by her many children grandchildren and great grandchildren and for her that would be as perfect as it gets.
