Week #4
July 19 - July 25
194th Session
ISaturday, 7/18/98 and Sunday, 7/19/98
On Saturday, made trip to Frederick, MD to take a camper down for service.  On way back home around 3:30PM, received a page about a traffic light that fell in one of the intersections in town.  Thank God for cell phones.  Got a crew out to work on light before I even got to town.  Support cable snapped for complete light system in intersection.  Got things taken care of by around 6PM.  Did laundry and relaxed around house Saturday night.  Sunday, did bills (gee, if I'm not there, don't you think that I shouldn't have to pay them?) and then cut grass.  Almost needed a herd of sheep.  Finished chores around house, took youngest to grandparents and headed back to Vacation Land!

Monday, 7/20/98
Up at 5:15 AM and out for a run with Roomy.  About 1 1/2 miles.  Didn't feel bad this morning.  Full day of classes, dinner, off to the coffee shop for a cuppa, and then back to the room to do some homework.  Down to the computer lab to catch up on page and email.  Looks like this week is fairly easy.  At least 1 - two hour break sometime each day.  Looking forward to the weekend.  Ball game Friday night, Baltimore/Seattle, with Ginger, his wife and others.  Youngest gets to see a real ball game finally.  Spend the night around Baltimore and go to York, PA Saturday.  Back home Saturday night to do wash.

Tuesday, 7/21/98
No running this morning.  PT this afternoon.  90+ degrees with a heat index of WHAT?!  Hotter than a dog's what, John S?  Ain't never heard that saying before.  Some free time before PT and still couldn't do a total lap.  Good classes today, interesting.  Forensics group meeting 7PM.  Okay, what are we going to discuss?  Rape or Murder?  BOTH!!!!  Need to work on some more class work.  Speech due next Wednesday.  Don't laugh!  YOU do one to inform/entertain for 6-8 minutes.  Gee, don' know if I can handle it!  Right!  Is it the weekend yet?

Wednesday, 7/22/98
Well, here we are half way through Week 4.  Hot day, black flag day.  Budget in CBT (Computer Base Training Lab).  Forgot one of my discs and now can't find it.  Someone took it out of the computer that I used and when I went looking for it - it's gone.  Not much work on it.  Hope they enjoy the disc.  2 hours free this morning.  PT after lunch, all indoors.  Legal Issues after PT.  Supper, quick run over to the main side MCX then - a MONDO iced mocha cappuccino with the Grunge Boys.  Ah, yes. Sit back, relax outside of the coffee shop, look at the............cars go by.  So what if there's a 24 hour Health Spa next door!  Found the scanner.  Now I can scan photos for the Forensics presentation.  Try to get psyched up for he Challenge Run tomorrow.  3.2 miles.  God give me strength!  Doesn't look like the hot weather is going to stay around long enough to get a black flag for Thursday.  RATS!

Thursday, 7/23/98
Start the day off complaining about how long other people were in the shower.  Not that I wanted to get in and take a shower.  Just the idea that it sounded like they were 2 feet away and were in there FOREVER.  And then the JET took off (hairdryer).  And all on the one day that Roomy and I could sleep in.  Nothing doing until 10AM, then an election of Class Reps.  After that -  THE run.  Temp was in the mid-upper 80's, humidity was a little high.  I wasn't in the lead pack, but I wasn't the last, either.  Forensics this afternoon, DNA.  Somebody goofed in the OJ trial!  Free time the rest of the day.  Looks like plenty of time to get some work done.  See where the Orioles won last night, Mariners lost, though.  No home run for Jr.  Supper was a steak feed in "The Grove" by Section 5.  Great food.  One of the Grunge Boys suggested the perfect topping for the meal - cheesecake at Gargoyle's, the coffee shop.  Who am I to argue with perfection and reason?  Cheesecake and a mondo iced mocha cappuccino went great with the meal.  Got back just in time before a cloudburst.  Best get some work done.  Can't wait for the weekend.  50 days till graduation - but who's counting?

Friday, 7/24/98
I'm outta here!  Quick trip to pick up something, on to Cumberland to get Bud, go to the bank, Post Office and in Baltimore by 5PM.  Ginger and wife along with another officer from my department also at the game.  Mariners lost 7-4.  Good game though.  On to the outskirts of Baltimore to spend the night (me and the boy).  Long day.  Bed was nice, even if it wasn't nine!
