Week #7
Aug. 10 - 14
194th Session
Week #7
It isn't for everyone and not just anyone is selected.  It has taken twelve years to finally be accepted and attend, but I'm proud to say, "Here I am."

Thanks to my buddy, L.T. and his wife, Sheryl, for the suggestions (and providing me with the .gif file) on the new background and also to Carol for the suggestion to put what week I am in on this page.  I also want to extend my sincere thanks to my "Guru", John D. back home, for all of his expertise and suggestions.  I appreciate everyone's input.

Saturday, 8/8/98 and Sunday, 8/9/98
Saturday.  What a day!  The boys went and did whatever their little hearts desired.  Fishing, biking, swimming.  Us older fellers swapped more stories.  In the afternoon, Harvey took all the boys except for Brenton out in a rowboat.  Brenton was off biking with some other friends he had met.  He's not a real fan of boating yet.  Me?  I took a nap!  Saturday evening after a great steak dinner, we all went swimming and played football in the water.  The boys were wore out after that.  Sunday, we got up and broke camp.  No one really wanted to go, but we knew we had to.  Thanks to Special K for the use of her pop-up.  I went home and washed until it was time to take Brenton to his grandparents and for me to head back to "Club Fed".

Monday, 8/10/98
A full day of credit classes.  Abnormal Behavior and Legal Issues this morning.  After lunch it was Budget (sat through another review for mid-term next week) and then Forensics.  After supper, an iced mocha, some time in the CBT and then more homework.  Need to fine tune that speech for tomorrow.  It'll be okay.

Tuesday, 8/11/98
Not a bad day, but not necessarily a great day.  Mandy called from my house telling me that part of the electric wasn't working properly and she had the fire department there trying to find out why one of the smoke detectors wasn't working.  Seems they think the house was struck by lightening the night before in a severe thunderstorm.  Well, looks like I have some work to do this weekend!  Classes started off with Chemical Agents.  DM, huh?  Make you lose all kinds of bodily functions!  Instructor says that you'll have matter coming from damn near every orifice of your body.  Just don't put them in your cruiser!  Computer forensics lecture in the "cave" (the COLD Auditorium).  Well, that's what was on the schedule.  Me?  Practiced my speech which I did right after lunch.  Went well.  You can read the speech in it's entirety by Following This Link.  PT rounded out the classes for the day.  The evening comprised of a BBQ for Section 4 (my Section) then quick trip to Gargoyles for the usual.

Wednesday, 8/12/98
Budget first thing.  Working on the group project, so I could do that on the laptop in my room.  PT, AGAIN?  Man, we just had it yesterday afternoon!  Another run?  Really don't kow how long my knees can take this pounding.  Try to quit sweating before you put your clothes on again.  Lunch then Legal Issues and then Effective Communiction at the end.  My turn to sit back and watch others give their speeches.  International night in the Atrium.  Videos from the various International Students as well as some "refreshments" from (where else) Deutschland and some other countries.  Got to break down and have me one of those German Beers again.  Haven't had a real decent one since we left there back in '03!  Let's just say it's been a year or two.  Mid-week, over the hump for this week.  29 days and a wake-up until graduation.  But, who's counting?

Thursday, 8/13/98
Wish I hadn't gone to International night!  Not used to drinking all those beers.  Yes, German as well as Taiwan, some liquor from Chile and the Phillipines, more German beer, and still more.  Thank God I only had one class this morning, Forensics.  Then the Challenge run.  The amount of alcohol dropping to the ground on the run was directly proportional to the amount of alcohol drank last night!  Felt a lot better after the run.  Must have gotten my body back in whack.  Let's see....after the run, Roomy and I ate lunch and then, ah... let's just say we went sight seeing at a resort close to Norfolk.  See how many people pick up on that!  HAPPY 10th B-Day, Brenton!

Friday, 8/14/98
Really dragging today.  Roomy hit the shower first.  That in itself is a first!  Abnormal Behavior and Eff Comm were the classes for this morning.  Free from 1-3 then Forensics, again.  Out of here close to 5PM and on up the road.  Not much happening tonight.  Roomy going up the road, too.  The other half of the Grunge Boys went back to the West Coast.  It was a planned thing.  Pick up the boy tomorrow and have a belated B-Day get together.  10 years old, where does the time go?
