Diagnosis: My son's therapist has told me unofficially that I have ADD. I believe him.
I am an average girl from an old-fashioned upbringing. Although some pretty rough times hit me as a young adult I was blessed with three very special children and now someone to share those children with who loves them as much as I do. I cannot stop to worry over where the kids got their disorders. I'll just call it genetic incompatibility with the "ex" and move on with life with my beautiful babies and my wonderful sweetheart. |
Tim is soon to be my second husband and the children's step-father. He is quite romantic and has a lot of old fashioned ideas. He is wonderful with the kids and shows them the right way for a man to treat "Mommy". Lucky for me, they love him as much as I do. |

KARINA |
Diagnosis: Neurofibromatosis Type-1 (NF-1), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), and Language Processing Learning Disorder Karina was diagnosed with all her difficulties when she was four years old. Thank God the difficulties she has are minor in comparison to other NF children. She has a loving and outgoing personality toward everybody. She tries very hard and usually is quite patient with others who do not understand her. |
Diagnosis: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) Joshua was five when he was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. Joshua is a charming boy with lots of energy and an above average I.Q. when he applies himself. He had frequent emotional outbursts of extreme defiance and violence in the past, but has learned to control himself very well over the past two years. |
JOSHUA |
JORDAN |
Diagnosis: Speech delays.
Jordan is an adorable pre-schooler who is developing quite well. A medical, educational and developmental evaluation on Jordan at age four confirmed that he is "normal" except for some minor speech delays. |
Diagnosis: Keratoconis (eye disease). Was called hyperactive as a child and still has a speech impediment. He refuses to see a psychiatrist, but claimed depression as his excuse for not paying child support. James is the children's biological father and my first husband. For the first two years of our marriage he was a great father. Sometime in the third year he became abusive toward me and neglectful of the children. We divorced after six more years. James now pays child support after several trips to court, but hasn't visited or called the children since Christmas 1998. |
