McDaniel is of British and/or Irish origin. The history traces its ancetry as of Delriadian orgin before the year 1100 and appears first in the records in Antrim.
The clan McDonald claims the McDaniel family as a directly affiliated family (sept) that is entitled to clan rights including the use of the clan tartan shown as the background on this page.
A history of the Clan Donald described as the most powerful of Clans at one time, controlled virtually the whole of Scotland's west coast.
