Deed to 20 Acres
To-Amos T. Mott
I, Gabril Herrin, have this day, bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey unto Amos T.Mott and his heirs forever, the consideration of Twenty Dollars, to me paid, on the following tract of land in the state of Tennessee, Putnam County, and Dist. No. 8, lying on the west side of Mine Lick Creek, containing 20 acres, be the same more or less and bounded as follows beginning on a hickory and black gum known as the corner of Clinton Herrin's, thence east with said line eighty poles to a stake in Clinton Herrin's line, thence south twenty-seven degrees west with said line 81 poles to Gabril Herrin's line of a fifty acre survey, at or near the ford of the Creek, thence northwest with a conditional line, ninty-nine poles to the beginin, including some cleared land. To have and to hold the same to the said A.T. Mott, his heirs and assignes forever, I do covenant with the said Mott that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it and that the same in unincumbered. I so futher covenant and bind myself, my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof to said A.T. Mott, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons, whatever. This 23rd day of May 1857, executed and delivered in our presence the day and date above written.
