Well, where should I start?! First I'll start with some of my favorite things to do. To start, I like to hang out with friend,(who wouldn't?!!)Not to brag, but my friends are the BEST!! We've all gone through a whole lot together. Sometimes in the mall people will stop and ask if we're sisters.(We're so close you can't tell sometimes!)
I mentioned once before that I just moved here to Hannibal, just about a year ago. My family and I moved from Iwakuni, Japan. Yeah, it was a pretty far move. My dad is in the Marine Corps and was transfered here to be a recruiter. It has been o.k. so far. Moving to a sovilen town and public school in the middle of the school year was pretty hard, but like I said before with-out my friends and family I couldn't have done it. They mean a whole lot to me. And I know that one day I will see them again in Heaven, after we pass away.
This past summer was a pretty busy time for me. My church youth group went to Carson-Newmen College in Tennessee a Centerfuge camp. It lasted for about one full week. It consited of bible studies with teens from other churchs all over the U.S and just with our youth group. We also went to recreation and other classes throughout the course of one day. Some of the classes were swimming, backpacking, missions, soccer, tennis, sign language, basketball, chorus, and other recreational sports. We stayed in the dorms of the college, though the guys didn't like it that their dorms were on the other side of campus and about two or three blocks from the girls' dorms, but they got over it. Many people got saved there, even from our youth group. Our youth group became very close during that short time period, which is pretty awsome, compared to other youth groups.
Last summer, my church youth group also went on a misson trip to Branson, Mo. There we set up our own day camps at the camp grounds and had a varity show every evening. We were there for a week too. The day camps only lasted for about 2 hours and consited of story time,(bible stories)snacks, and crafts, we also had a game time to learn everyone's name. At the varity show every night we had different skits that were corny and funny to puppet shows and songs. Everyone who watched loved it. Just from that trip alone, three kids from the camp grounds were saved. Pretty awesome, HUH?!
Well, I guess you probably know pretty much everything I like to do, besides hanging out with my friends, I like to watch movies, read, play volleyball, soccer, basketball, and the alto saxophone. I also like to play with my two dogs. Their names are Scooter, who is a 12 year old male schnauzer, and Sakura, who is a 4 year old female begal, fox hound mix.
I enjoy living in Japan I have learned a lot. But I miss my family and friends back in the United States. Mostly, I miss my two dogs Maggie, who is part beagle/cocker-spaniel, and Scooter, who is a schnauzer. We learned not long ago that Maggie was hit by a car and died. I miss her so much. I'm so thankful that we took pictures together before we left America. To see a picture of Maggie, Scooter and me, check out the photo album.
I love the Lord and I've been a Christian since I was 5 years old. My family and I attend Faith Baptist Church. We have a youth group called the "Cheerful Givers". I didn't like that name at first until we got to design our own logo for our shirts. I added the scripture: "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
In May I was one of about 15 who got inducted into the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society. I was so excited and thrilled that evening. |
