"Teal Stars"
This is a work in progress that is almost completed as of 7/2000 - hand quilted with black cotton thread. It consists of reverse image stars in shades of teal from one of the first block exchanges I'd participated in several years ago (1995). The squares sat in my quilting box until the summer of 1998, when I stumbled across them and decided I needed to do something with them. I bought some ruby red fabric with a small black line print for the sashes, and arranged the stars from dark to light value (teals) starting at one corner and progressing to the center. I outline quilted the stars at 1/2" spacing. The quilt back is black, the batting 100% cotton (the old-fashioned unstable type), and the binding is black.
