Apparently
the preseason Ad campaign "Irishmen fever - Catch it!" was a bust.
We start the first game with 5 skaters on the ice, with a puck bag,
3 water bottles & Jeff on the bench. Luckily by the first whistle
3 people joined him. Now the game: We win 4 - 2. With some new fresh
legs we overcome Hurtubise last period equalizer pass to the wrong
team in our zone (Score!). Game beer award goes to Carl for the
Espo - like performance - 2 goals. By the way that beer needs to
be colder. New Ad campaign "When Irish thigh's are burning." |

Irishmen
on the receiving end of the Johnny's version of the Broadway hit
"Stomp!" Three lines of D & it still wasn't enough. Boomer is studying
some motivational chants to bring our goal scorers out of their
shell. (SHOOT! SHOOT! SHOOT! apparently doesn't work) Wish list:
A scoring "Spurt." (3 goals in 5 minutes) Other spurts should be
taken up with your physician. Justin wins MVP for the only goal. |

Irishmen
get rocked & see FOP "Stars" 6-3. We're pooling team funds to try
to get "Howie Meeker" out of retirement to teach us goal scoring.
You younger players look him up on the net, see "Peter Puck" while
you're at it! We may need a mascot to draw fans. Ronnie you work
in advertising, we need an angle or an intern stat. |

Heartbreaking
overtime loss to Archbishops 4 - 3. The confessional is wide open.
Smegs can start by doing a dozen Hail Mary's. "... Bless me father
for I cannot pass the puck..." There will be wholesale shootout
changes starting with Mike Darcy on the leadoff shootout spot. If
he doesn't score he'll run the goalie to put the fear of God in
him (see religious theme above). There will be no further reference
to scoring draughts. (Justin do your stuff!) Ron Coil gets the MVP
for playing outstanding defense. |
