Lawrence and Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison's daughter Connie Sue Morrison was born 9-23-1943 in Alton, IL. She died 1-10-2002 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO. She married Gene Parsell 11-20-1965 at Fieldon United Church of Christ. Gene and Connie (Morrison) Parsell had 2 children-Clara Parsell who married Dr. Nizar Assi of Town and Country, MO, and Julie Parsell of St. Louis, MO. Connie (Morrison) Parsell is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.
(2) George and Tillie (Andris) Morrison's son George Bert Morrison was born 9-25-1909 in Fieldon, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He died 4-22-1991 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL. He married Vivian M. Willis 11-26-1954 in Hernando, Miss. They had a daughter, Charlene Pohlman of Granite City, IL. George Bert Morrison farmed in the Fieldon, IL area. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL.
(3) George and Tillie (Andris) Morrison's son Sylvester A. Morrison was born in 1900, and died in 1976. He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Edna Dabbs, the daughter of Lester Franklin Dabbs and Ella May (Beach) Dabbs.
(4) George and Tillie (Andris) Morrison's daughter Lida Marie Morrison married Herschel Lee Medford 10-6-1921. He was born 9-25-1898 near Fieldon, Jersey County, IL. He died 5-14-1982 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, IL. He was the son of Roy and Mary (Schaaf) Medford. He is buried at Gunterman Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. Herschel and Lida (Morrison) Medford had a daughter, Doris (Medford) Spangle of Tucson, Arizona.
William Krueger
William Krueger, a wealthy farmer in this township, was born in Prussia on the 12th of June 1833. His parents were Charles and Mary (Owens) Krueger. His father died in Germany in 1845, at the age of about 51 years. His mother came to this country about four years after her son, William, came. She lived near Chicago about two years with her son Charles. He then moved to Minnesota, and she went with him, and resided there until her death in the spring of 1871, at age 80 years. In the year 1854, our subject took passage in a vessel bound for Canada, and after a voyage of four weeks, he landed at Quebec.
He remained there three days, then went to Montreal, where he worked on the canal for about a month, then went on to Chicago, where he went to work for the Illinois Central railroad company, about 15 miles from the city. He worked there seven weeks, and then went to making plank fence along the railroad near Kankakee, where he worked a couple of months. He then went to work on the canal again during the summer, about 22 miles from Chicago, and in the winter he chopped wood. He was thus employed for nearly four years, and then came down to Grafton, with a yoke of cattle, and commenced farming and hauling cord wood. He remained there over five years, and then came to Richwoods township, where he had bought land about a month before that. He located on 200 acres which he had bought on sections 14 and 15, his house being on section 14, and on this place he still lives. He has added to this until now he has a splendid farm of 770 acres. His time is devoted not only to the raising of grain, but also to stock-raising, in which he is very successful. He was married in Chicago, on the 20th of June 1857 to Dora Praell, a native of Mechlenburg, Germany.
Nine children were born to them, six of whom are now living: George; Charles, married to Lizzie Krouse, and living in Richwoods township; William, Henry, Louis and Matilda; Emma died at the age of one and a half years, the other two died in infancy. Mr. Kreuger and wife are both members of the Lutheran church at Fieldon. He has held the office of road commissioner three years, and that of school director several terms. Mr. Kreuger has been very successful since coming to this country, and by his industry has succeeded in placing his family in a most comfortable situation.

This is the obituary of William Krueger's wife - Dorothea (Prill) Krueger died 06-00-1908. Unknown newspaper, June 1908: Dorothea Krueger, nee Prill, was born on 26 February 1834 at Grabow, Mecklenburg, Schiverin, Germany. She came to US in 1854 and to Jersey County in 1856. She married William Krueger at Chicago, Illinois and came to Grafton. William died in June 1894.

The funeral was from German Evangelical church at Fieldon on 5 December with Rev. Paul Stange; burial in Fieldon cemetery.
Additional obituary, Unknown newspaper, 6 December 1917: George R. Krueger, 57 years old, died at his home two miles northwest of Fieldon on 2 December. He leaves wife, one daughter, Mrs. Matilda McCormick of Alton; two sons, John of Fieldon and George who is in the Army in New Mexico and who came for the funeral; one sister, Mrs. Matilda Weighard of this city and three brothers, Charles of Oklahoma, Henry and Louis of Fieldon.

George and Elizabeth (Springman) Krueger's son - George Louis Krueger died 12-22-1986. Unknown newspaper, January 1986: Former Batchtown resident, George Louis Krueger, 90, of Jerseyville, died on 22 December in Jerseyville Care Center. He was born on 2 February 1895 in Fieldon to George Krueger and Elizabeth Springman Krueger. He was a veteran of World War I and a self employed salesman. Survivors include cousins. His body was donated to St. Louis University Medical School. Memorials have been established to Calhoun County ambulance service and Fieldon United Church of Christ. Gubser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
(2) William and Dorothea (Prill) Krueger's son Charles F. Krueger was born in 1861 in Jersey County, IL. He died in 1960. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL. He married Elizabeth Krause 2-20-1884 in Jersey County, IL. Charles and Elizabeth (Krause) Krueger had these children-Ella J. Krueger, Kate Krueger, William Krueger, Louise Krueger, and Christine Emma Krueger.

(1a) Charles and Elizabeth (Krause) Krueger's daughter - Ella J. (Krueger) Roach died 01-21-1957. Ella J. Roach, 70 years, 10 months, died at 4:30 am Monday January 21, at St. Anthony hospital in St. Louis where she had been a patient for the past 2 weeks. She had been in ill health for quite some time. Mrs. Roach was a daughter of Charles Krueger and the late Elizabeth (Krause) Krueger of Jerseyville and was born in this county March 21, 1886.
The decedent is survived by husband William a Roach who engaged in the shoe business in Jerseyville for a number of years; 1 son, Russell Roach of Jerseyville who continues the business started by his father; 3 grandchildren, Terrence, Jerome and Thomas Roach of this city; her father, and 2 sisters, Miss Katie Krueger of St. Louis and Mrs. Louise Rice of Springfield. Mrs. Roach was a member of Steelman Camp, Royal Neighbors of America. The 51st wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Roach occurred January 16. Friends called at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services were held at 9:30 am Thursday at St. Francis Xavier church. Requiem mass was celebrated by Father Thomas Gorman and burial was in St. Francis cemetery.

Ella J. (Krueger) Roach's husband - Russell Francis Roach died 08-19-1984. Russell Francis Roach, 74, who owned and operated Roach Shoe Store here for many years, died Sunday, August 19, at his home in Downey, California. Born June 18, 1910, in Jerseyville, the son of William a & Ella (Kreuger) Roach, he married Mary J. McIntyre, February 26, 1938, in Jerseyville. He was employed for a period of time at the Wedge Bank in Alton, then returned to Jerseyville where he owned and operated Roach's Shoe Store.
He was active in Knights of Columbus, Elks and Moose. Roach served as Republican Chairman of Jersey County, Probation Officer of Jersey County, member of the Jersey Planning Commission, member of the Jerseyville Library Board of Directors, and President of the Jersey County Historical Society. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier church in Jerseyville. Surviving besides his wife are 3 sons, Dr. Terrence of Huntington Beach, California, Dr. Jerome of Downey, California, and Thomas of Indianapolis, Indiana; and 6 grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Downey, with burial in All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Long Beach, California. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Perpetual Help church.

Fred and Annie (Krueger) Gerson's son - Raymond Frederick (Sparky) Gerson, 60, died April 18 at St. Mary hospital in St. Louis following an extended illness. Services were held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville. Rev William Smith and Rev Leonard Todd officiated. Burial was in Fieldon. A feed salesman, he was born April 11, 1915 in Richwood township, Jersey county, a son of Fred & Anna (Krueger) Gerson.
He was a member of Fieldon Masonic Lodge, Jerseyville Moose Lodge and had been treasurer of the Fieldon Business Booster Club for 20 yrs. He was a member of Fieldon United Church of Christ. Surviving are his widow, Irene (Busch) Gerson; 1 son, Gary Gerson of Alton; 1 daughter, Renee Gerson, Fieldon; and 2 sisters, Mrs Lawrence (Ruth) Erwin of Fieldon and Mrs Verne (Mildred) Williamson of Alton. Visitation was held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville. Masonic services were conducted Sat eve.

Fred and Annie (Krueger) Gerson's daughter Ruth V. Gerson died 1-15-2003. She married Lawrence John "Chick" Erwin. Her husband - Lawrence John "Chick" Erwin, 83, died at 5:07 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis County. Born Jan. 23, 1923, in English Township in Jersey County, he was the last surviving of 10 children of John L. and Mary A. (Borer) Erwin. He married the former Ruth V. Gerson on June 7, 1942, in Fieldon. She died Jan. 15, 2003. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and returned to Fieldon after his discharge. He began working as a union laborer and worked as a substitute mail carrier in Fieldon. He and his wife also owned and operated a grocery store in Fieldon for many years, selling the business in 1964, and farmed in the Fieldon area as well. He retired in 1989 from the state of Illinois, where he worked as a carpenter at Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton with the Department of Conservation. He was a very active member of the community and was a devoted member of the Fieldon United Church of Christ, serving on numerous boards, the Moose Lodge in Jerseyville and the Fieldon Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Laura Lee "Dee Dee" and Robert Pearson of Franklin, Ill.; a son, Lawrence F. Erwin of Fairview Heights; a granddaughter and her husband, Amy Lee and Jay Huston of Jacksonville, Ill.; and two great-grandsons, Trevor and Cole Lawrence Huston. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyne Goshorn, Maurietta Devening and Arabelle Bunse; and six brothers, Clarence, Walter, Charles "Shine," Norman "Pete," James and Owen "Rich" Erwin. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Barbara Alley officiating. Burial was at Fieldon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Fieldon United Church of Christ Youth Group or American Cancer Society.

They had a daughter Betty (Krueger) Wilson (deceased), and a daughter Mary Helen Krueger who died in infancy in 1929. (3a) Henry and Barbara (Hagen) Krueger's son - Edward Krueger, died 00-08-1967. Democrat News, 17 August 1967: "Died in Car Wreckage": Edward Krueger, 64, of 103 North Liberty Street, Jerseyville, died in flames which engulfed his automobile after it crashed into a CIPS pole five miles west of Jerseyville on route 16 about seven-fifteen o'clock Tuesday evening. Trooper James Warford told a reporter for the Democrat News that while at the scene of another car fire in Delhi , he received a call to go five miles west of Jerseyville where a man was pinned in a car which was burning.
The investigating officer reports that he found that a 1961 Cadillac 4-door driven west by Krueger had run off the north side of the road, overturned, clipped off a CIPS pole, and caught fire. Trooper Warford said that due to the electricity those arriving on the scene were unable to get to Krueger. The Fieldon fire department, according to the officer, was on the scene within a few minutes and had extin- . . . rest of article is missing.

(5) William and Dorothea (Prill) Krueger's son - Louis John Krueger died 08-06-1959. Unknown newspaper, 13 August 1959: Final rites for Louis John Krueger, well-known Fieldon resident and a former supervisor from Richwood township, were held Sunday afternoon, 9 August at two o'clock at Christ Evangelical and Reformed church in Fieldon, of which he was a member. Rev. Alton Loar, pastor of the church, officiated and burial was in the Fieldon cemetery. Friends called at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where on Saturday evening (picture of decedent appears here in obituary) at eight o'clock Masonic services were conducted by Fieldon Lodge No. 592.
The death of Mr. Krueger occurred Thursday evening, 6 August at 8:10 o'clock at his home in Fieldon where he had resided for more than thirty years. He had been in failing health for some time. The decedent was a son of the late William C. and Dorothea Prill Krueger and was born in Jersey County on 22 November 1873. His age at the time of death was eighty-five years, eight months and fourteen days. As a young man, Mr. Krueger engaged in farming. He was married on 30 April 1896 to Miss Emma Kessler and their sixty third wedding anniversary occurred this year.
Mr. Krueger was active in civic affairs and the Masonic Lodge of Fieldon. He had been a member of the Lodge for forty-seven years and served as its treasurer for twenty-nine years. He served as member of the Jersey County Board of Supervisors from 1924 to 1933, a position now held by his son, Supervisor Harold L. Krueger. The latter was elected to the post in 1945. The decedent also served as a school director for twenty years and was a member of the Directorate of Fieldon State Bank at the time it was purchased by the State Bank of Jerseyville several years ago. Surviving Mr. Krueger are his wife, Mrs. Emma Krueger, one daughter, Miss Hilda F. Krueger, and two sons, Supervisor Harold L. Krueger and Albert F. Krueger, all of Fieldon, one brother, Charles Krueger, 98 years old Jerseyville resident; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Walter and William Krueger.

(1a) Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger's daughter- Hilda F. Krueger died 02-06-1979. Unknown newspaper, 8 February 1979: Hilda F. Krueger, of Fieldon, Assistant Postmaster of the Fieldon post office, died at 5:35 a.m. on 6 February at Jersey Community Hospital. Miss Krueger was born on 3 March 1912 in Fieldon, the daughter of the Late L. J. and Emma Kessler Krueger.
She is survived by two brothers, Harold and Albert Krueger, both of Fieldon. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services were held at 1:30 today (February 8) at the Fieldon United Church of Christ, Rev. Robert Broeder officiating, with burial in the Fieldon cemetery. Eastern Star services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home where visitation was held that evening and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral time. The Fieldon United Church of Christ has been named as a memorial.

(2a) Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger's son - Albert F. Krueger died 09-22-1985. Alton telegraph, 22 September 1985: Fieldon - Albert F. Krueger, 74, died at 4:42 a.m. today at St. Anthony's hospital. He was a farmer, born in Fieldon, son of the late Louis John and Emma (Kessler) Krueger. He was married to Freda Hamilton on 12 September 1936 and she died on 22 September 1962. He then married Fern Pauline Lyles Cummings on 30 April 1975 in Edwardsville. She survives in Fieldon.
Also surviving are a son, Donald L. of Waterloo; four Daughters, Marcella Marie McCallister of Pana, Phyllis Ann Long of East Alton, Karen Linn Krueger of Alton and Cristal Ourdehner of Matteson; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Harold of Fieldon. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Fieldon Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Jean Erb officiating. Burial will be in the Fieldon cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lewis & Clark Lung Association or the Fieldon United Church of Christ, of which he was a member.

Albert and Freda (Hamilton) Krueger's granddaughter - Lynella Ann McCallister died 9-27-1977. Graveside rites were conducted Thursday morning at Fieldon cemetery for Lynella Ann McCallister, daughter of Lyndle and Marcella Krueger McCallister, who was stillborn at 12:21 p.m. on 27 Sep. at Belleville Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Robert Broeder officiated. Besides her parents she is survived by three sisters, Lesa, Michelle and Sharon and two brothers, Lyndle, Jr. And Michael, at home, and her maternal Grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Krueger of Fieldon. (3a) Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger's son -- Harold L. Krueger Sr., 89, died at 12 :45 Friday, 11 December 1987 at Garnet's Chateau after a lengthy illness. a farmer, who retired in 1979, he served 20 years as supervisor in Richwoods township of Jersey County. He was born in Fieldon, son of the late Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger. He married the former Leola Busch of Fieldon on 26 October 1921 in Belleville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Harold L. Krueger, Jr. of Godfrey; two granddaughters; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Gubser Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and will be performed by Fieldon Masonic Lodge 592 AF & AM funeral services will be Gubser Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Monday with Rev. Jean Erb officiating. Burial will be in Fieldon cemetery. Memorials will go to the organ fund of the United Church of Christ in Fieldon, of which he was a member.
(Note: Harold L. Krueger Sr. was my school bus driver for a number of years when I attended grade school and high school in Jersey County, IL in the 1950's.)

(4a) Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger's son Walter G. Krueger was born in 1897 in Jersey County, IL. He died in 1938. He was a WWI Veteran. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.

(5a) Louis and Emma (Kessler) Krueger's son William G. Krueger was born in 1901 in Jersey County, IL. He died in 1947. He is buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.
(6) William and Dorothea (Prill) Krueger's daughter Matilda Krueger was born in 1870 in Jersey County, IL. She died in 1944. She married Henry J. Wieghand 4-25-1888 in Jersey County, IL. He was born in 1858 and died 7-24-1901. They are both buried at Fieldon Cemetery, Richwood Township, Jersey County, IL.
(7) William and Dorothea (Prill) Krueger's daughter Emma Krueger died in infancy at 1½ years of age.
