Scholarship Fund

| The family and friends of the late Alan R. Yoffee, a 1983 School of Communications and Theater graduate of Temple University, created a scholarship fund at his alma mater in 1993. An annual award of $250.00, the Alan R. Yoffee Memorial Scholarship Fund, is given to an undergraduate public relations work-study student who has performed volunteer work in the public relations field and/or the community in general. The student must be a hard worker and exhibit outstanding writing ability. Because Alan felt strongly about performing community service and took a great interest in education, these criteria are an important factor in choosing the award recipient. The recipient is selected by the scholarship awards committee of the Department of Journalism. A communications associate for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Alan was also a regular contributor to several area newspapers. A great deal of his time was spent doing volunteer public relations for many arts, AIDS, and senior citizen organizations.
