Scholarship Fund

The family and friends of the late Alan R. Yoffee, a 1983 School of Communications and Theater graduate of Temple University, created a scholarship fund at his alma mater in 1993.

An annual award of $250.00, the Alan R. Yoffee Memorial Scholarship Fund, is given to an undergraduate public relations work-study student who has performed volunteer work in the public relations field and/or the community in general. The student must be a hard worker and exhibit outstanding writing ability.

Because Alan felt strongly about performing community service and took a great interest in education, these criteria are an important factor in choosing the award recipient. The recipient is selected by the scholarship awards committee of the Department of Journalism.

A communications associate for the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Alan was also a regular contributor to several area newspapers. A great deal of his time was spent doing volunteer public relations for many arts, AIDS, and senior citizen organizations.

Those wishing to make contributions can make checks payable to Temple University, mentioning the Alan R. Yoffee Memorial Scholarship Fund on the check.
Mailing address: Temple University, Office of Development and Alumni Affairs (083-49),  Philadelphia, PA 19122.
