History of the Greiner Family
The Greiner family came from France after 1869 and settled in Michigan. They were not a large family and to our knowledge have no living Griner issue of this line America.

Generation 2
Emile Dominique Greiner was born July 13, 1869 in Corbeil, Seine Et Oise, France; he died January 27, 1896 in Lawton, Michigan. He married Emma B. Wooden daughter of William B. Wooden (1826-1881) and Carolyn E. Brown Wooden (1845-1882). Emma was born July 23, 1871 in Lawrence, Michigan and died April 10, 1899 in Lawrence, MI. Burial: Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, MI.

Generation 4
Deo Emile Greiner, born April 5, 1845 in MI; died May 18, 1959 in Oakland, CA. He married Iva Bell Mellen on May 29, 1919 in South Bend, Indiana. She was born February 26, 1897 in Athens, MI; died October 19, 1978 in San Leandro, CA.

Eugene George Greiner was born December 1891 in Lawton, Van Buren, MI; died August 1, 1940. He married Mary Lorinza Earnestine Louie Niman. She was born About 1894 in Shreve, Ohio.

George joined the Barnam and Bailey Circus when he was 17 years old. He met Mary Niman in New York City where she was working in a bakery. She was especially noted for her wonderful pies and pastries.

Generation 5
Rev. Eugene George Greiner was born March 4, 1922; died July 8, 1983 in AR. He married Kathleen McAnally in 1945, daughter of W.J.B. McAnally and Viola Balthrop.
More about George Greiner:
George enlisted as a serviceman in WWII and was stationed in California. He and Kathleen lived there until the end of the war. At that time, George felt a call to preach and he pastored several church in California, Colorado and Arkansas before entering the evangelistic field. He could tune pianos and when he would come to a church to preach and minister in song, he would tune their piano for them. He was a positive, happy, friendly Christian gentleman. Upon his retirement, he moved to Arkansas where he died while playing golf with friends.
