Notes:
SHOWN ARE SOME OF THE MOST RECENT INFILTRATION ACTIVITIES ATTEMPTED BY NORTH KOREAN AGENTS.
ON 18 SEPTEMBER 1996, 26 AGENTS ABOARD A SANGO SUBMARINE RAN AROUND OFF THE EAST COAST. NORMAL OPS IS TO DROP SOF OFF ABOUT 1-2 NM FROM THE COAST WHERE THEY EITHER RAFT OR SWIM TO SHORE, BUT THIS SUB GOT A LITTLE CLOSE AND WAS BEACHED ACCIDENTALLY. THIS WAS A VERY EMBARASSING EVENT FOR N.K.. MOST OF THE NORTH KOREAN AGENTS AND CREW WERE KILLED OR CAPTUREDWHILE TRYING TO EVADE OVERLAND BACK TO N.K.
DURING OCT 97, TWO NORTH KOREAN AGENTS (MALE/FEMALE) WERE ARRESTE IN SEOUL. THEY WERE TRYING TO RECRUIT NORTH KOREAN SYMPATHIZERS AND MAKE CONTACT WITH CURRENT AGENTS. CONSISTED OF TWO UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS AND ONE A SUBWAY DIRECTOR AND 3 OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS. THE DIRECTORS JOB WAS TO DESTROY OR DELAY OPERATIONS OF THE SUBWAY SYSTEM IN CASE OF HOSTILITIES.
