We went house hunting on the 26th May 2000 (Duan's birthday) and decided to built in Cedar Park, Austin.
We learned that the price of a lot is very much influenced with what you find on it, where you can see from it, and of course in which area you want it.... for instance if you want trees on your lot (old or relatively young ones does not matter) you will pay an extra $1000 plus and so forth and so forth. And then the trees are not guaranteed to still be alive after construction so I guess its a risk you take. If I look at some of the houses after construction with trees on their lots, it was a risk well worth it.
